Sportsboards, the tool that sporting coaches of all levels need!
Sportsboards was born and bred in Torquay, Victoria – a sport mad hub on the Surf Coast. Developed and create by founder Terry ‘Stretch’ Jones a local football legend who played, coached, was Club President at the Torquay Tigers and Bellarine Football Interleague Director. Terry was also an avid sports watcher and loved NRL, Netball, Soccer etc and was often found on a Sunday watching any and every sport there was.
After seeing the local leagues look to improve year on year with their performances on the ground, Terry saw the need to help provide the coaches a tool to help explain the play, show potential moves and team changes in an easy to use and transport as well as be durable for those highly vocal coaching types – thus Sportsboards was born.
The business has gone from strength to strength and from AFL to now having most team sports covered and always looking to further develop and update products, create new additions and help coaches with the winning each – no matter their level!
With Terry’s tragic passing in 2014, his middle daughter Sheridan left her job of 15 years as Sports Marketing Manager at Oakley sunglasses to take over the business and grow it into what it is today. Sheridan and the team have continued to grow the brand, with more and more clubs from Soccer, Water Polo to Basketball and Hockey by seeing the advantage of having quality coaching tools.
With a growing team, head office and warehouse in Torquay and over 120 stores and distributors across Australia, New Zealand selling Sportsboards, along with the multitude of clubs from grass root junior clubs through to AFL clubs like the Geelong Cats, Sydney Swans and Melbourne Demons and A league club Western United all relying on Sportsboards to help them on game day!
